Great video! Also worth mentioning that your e has a very small window of i frame so if you time it right you can dodge stuff with it.

A quality-of-life request that might be a bit late at this point with how many guides are done: in future, consider somehow showing the viewer the animation for each skill u mention. My thinking was you could just have a clip at the beginning of the video where you quickly cast every skill a character has, and have some text pop up for what button it was. This makes it clearer which ability is which and is a good reference point if the viewer ever forgets.

You dont need to even have a special commentary for it, just have it run in the background of your introductory comments.

How your battlerite look so smooth

I personally think that Shifu is Sirius, if they designed Sirius to be a damaging melee character. I much better at the game now, and I find that the Super Melee tanks get absolutely destroyed by Offensive Melee characters, like jeez. They telegraph so much of their abilities, it's insane how easy it is to parry most of them. Also, that poor Ruh Kaan just let you wail on him like that…

There are Two builds I use on Shifu, the one you use is close to my Damage Build but instead I use the Spear is the way, and Spear Dance Instead of the more range on Harpoons.

I also use a High Mobility build which uses those Two battlerites again but with Thrust, Ceremonial Spear and Spear Slinger. This Build won me a 1v2 vs Bakko and Destiny while at 3hp

    nice guide.
Besides Ceremonial Spear, Ferocious Stance and Javelin Master
i also like Mantra, The Spear Is The Way and Spear Lunge +Dirty Tricks and Thrust a lot.
So kinda 2 flexpicks depending on if i need more sustain/energy/stickyness/orDMG.

Picking more energy over more dmg most of the times tho.
I heard some people use Whirling Blade but for me The Spear Is The Way sounds way better.

Ferocious stance, not ferocious spear. Lapsus. 🙂

  • TheBananaThug 12 / 12 / 2017 Reply

I really think you overvalue Ferocious stance. I honestly think its terrible. The extra charge from counter is good but against good players its not going to end up being that useful overall.

The 4 total charges is practically irrelevant. You want to RMB on cooldown, as long as you have atleast 1 charge. Waiting for 4 charges is pointless unless you think you're going to have to leave the engagement before you can get off 2 RMBs. Its only benefit would be burst, which just isnt Shifu's style.

If you actually test the damage, its the same dps waiting until max charge with or without the battlerite. The charge hit is bigger but you're doing less of them.

The battlerite sounds good when you first look at it, but when you actually think about what it really does, its quite useless.

0:25 The best part is: Shifu doesn't even use a spear, his weapon falls into the "glaive" category.
1:19 Thrust and Dirty Tricks are mandatory. I don't think that Shifu can work properly without the root on E and the damage on RMB.

I always take the recast for E on walls.
It means that I can just intentionally throw E on a wall when engaging, so that I'm close to my opponent even when I miss the recast.
It also let's me escape very easily when Q and Space are on cooldown.
The extra range on RMB is also very useful, but the heal works just fine too.

The way I use Shifu in 3v3 is as a disruptor.
I wait until my allies are ready to attack, then I jump into the enemy team and just dance around them until my R is up and Incap everyone. If the situation gets too dangerous or when my allies can't catch up, I can always jump away over walls with E.

Also canceling Q with C is very important, so that I can get out of the AoE with space, RMB or E.

Also: I always use Ex-Spacebar in need of HP. Hitting someone twice during Ex-Space will basicly heal you up to whatever is your max HP right now.

"As long as you can hit your E",
    Proceeds to miss both E's

  • MikitheCCfans 15 / 01 / 2018 Reply

It's really important to hit your Es -> Misses 95% of the es of the game rofl

"Play Shifu like a man because that's what he is!" Your logic is undeniable good sir =] I watched this vid to better understand how to best fight against Shifu players since I have been struggling against him. Now I just feel like playing as him though cause you definitely made him sound appealing. Thanks for another great video!

  • BAV 05 / 03 / 2018 Reply

I always use this build now except I substitute Ceremonial Spear for Swift Feet, I consistently get more value from the bonus ms & the extended haste duration than from the 10 hp.
Before watching this I usually took Spear Slinger but the Javelin Master/Dirty Tricks combination is so much more effective that I almost always use it. (Gotta switch Javelin Master to Spear Slinger on Orman Temple cuz it's irresponsible not to lol)
After getting somewhat comfortable with Shifu I had to come back to this video to thank you, you're the bee's knees!

Shifu technically has 2 I-frames, his Space and E.
