MAYBE the reason the UCS and R1 sets show such diminished returns is because the Y-Wing was a garbage design 40 years ago and it’s garbage today.

Have you considered purchasing a camera slider? Mainly for use with larger sets and your city, rather than moving the model on the turn table, the slider would eliminate wobble on close ups? 🙂

Saw this kit in the flesh in the Lego store yesterday and was shocked how big it is, almost bought it.

I passed on the R1 Y-Wing set as I already have 9495 and felt I didn't need another Y-Wing at that scale (as nice as the R1 Y-Wing is). Given that I'm a huge Y-Wing fan, the UCS was a no-brainer for me. I do think the price is a little high for what you get, but that could easily be said of any of the larger licensed LEGO sets, I suppose.

The fact that this set is minifigurs scale really brings home how big the actual Y wing is in the Star Wars universe.

    Especially for a UCS set

Simply AMAZING! This is a great example of a Lego build that looks better than many dedicated model kits. Again, simply INCREDIBLE!

all of the filming models in the trench run scene used R-2 droids, even the ones that had other droids in the cockpit shots.
